Floating Wings NGO founded by Om Ojha, believes every child deserves the chance to dream, learn, and achieve. From the small village of Purai in Chhattisgarh, we have nurtured swimmers aged 8–30 years, guiding them from practicing in ponds to winning medals on national and international stages.
What began as a simple effort to teach swimming has now grown into a movement that builds confidence, discipline, and opportunities for rural youth. Our swimmers have created world records, brought home gold medals, and many have been selected by the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
For us, swimming is not just a sport—it is a lifeline that changes futures. With your support, we can continue shaping champions, breaking barriers, and proving that even from the smallest villages, world-class athletes can rise. Together, let’s keep their dreams afloat.
Floating Wings NGO is committed to giving every aspiring swimmer the right support to grow and succeed. We provide:
The journey of Floating Wings began in Purai, Chhattisgarh, with the vision of Om Kumar Ojha, a passionate swimmer who turned challenges into opportunities. Starting his training in village ponds with limited resources, Om faced struggles of discrimination, lack of facilities, and social barriers. Yet, his dedication inspired other youngsters to take up swimming.
Under his guidance, Floating Wings grew into a free training ground for children and youth aged 8–30. Despite challenges like lack of pools, training gear, and social barriers, they continued to grow stronger. From winning medals at state and national championships to making entries in the Golden Book of World Records and securing 16 gold medals at an international championship in Nepal (2022), the journey reflects how one man’s dream transformed into a movement creating world-class champions.
Floating Wings has achieved remarkable success despite challenges. Our swimmers have entered the Golden Book of World Records for endurance swimming, including continuous swims of 6–8 hours. In 2022, our team won 16 Gold Medals at the International Swimming Championship in Nepal, proving rural talent can excel globally. More than 40 athletes trained in Purai secured government jobs through sports. Several of our students have been selected by the Sports Authority of India (SAI). From once sharing a single swimsuit in muddy ponds to standing on international podiums, our journey shows discipline, sacrifice, and strength. These achievements are not just medals – they are milestones of courage and proof that free training with the right guidance can change lives.
At Floating Wings NGO, our young swimmers have shown outstanding talent at state, national, and even international levels. But to compete globally, they need proper facilities and up-to-the-mark support. Your donation can help us overcome these gaps:
Our Needs & How Your Donation Helps
The most necessary facility we require. With your support, we can build a professional 50m pool with correct lanes and depth, suitable for international-level training instead of unsafe ponds and temporary pools.
Donations will provide proper swimsuits, caps, and goggles, ensuring every swimmer has the basic necessities to train confidently.
Contributions will fund balanced meals, supplements, and medical care, which are necessary for strength and endurance.
Support will enable access to qualified coaches, necessary training tools, and safe infrastructure that meet national and international standards.
With your help, no swimmer will be forced to give up their dream due to financial hardship.
